National Day 2007 !

Soon it will be National Day again... August 9th.

This year's theme is 'PossibiCity' and we have two songs this year. Personally. I like the second one better. I guess I can relate better to the song. Read the lyrics... they make me cry.. at times like this, I feel really proud of my country.

Two years ago, I left Canada...

I walked around with a heavy heart today...I woke up feeling grouchy and wasn't looking forward to going to work, I dragged my feet to finish work.

It was a rainy day when I arrived in Singapore two years ago, it rained again today.
I went to IJ the next day after I arrived two years ago, I went to IJ again today.

Co-incidently, I manage to talk to Sai..
Co-incidently, Craig is in town..
Co-incidently, I met cookie for lunch..

Today is not a happy day..... I will take a while to recover.

After two years of moving back home from Canada, I have a brand new room ! New furniture, new coat of paint, bought 3 new bookshelves, a new BIG table ( how wonderful ), a 1.5m long wardrobe, a new 37'' LCD TV and a truly classic poster of Charles Ray to hang on my wall.



I have not hung it on the wall because I need all my friends from around the the world to send me a picture of their favourite place in the world. It can be a lighthouse, an old irish pub, a boat from Salt Spring Island, a tree, anything bright and colourful . Send them to me !! I will be printing all the pictures at the end of June !

I Saw a movie in 2003

I saw Mona Lisa Smile in 2003 and was truly inspired by it since then. Last night, I went for a little work in the neighbourhood and saw a video stall selling the DVD at $10 !!!! ( the orginal copy ) And although I promised myself not to spend any money this month, I had had had had to buy it.....

And guess who stayed up to watch the movie ?

Guilty

On the last day of May, after spending too much money on my room and my camera, I've decided to start saving money for a trip to Europe next year.. I promised myself that I will cut back on clothes and books.

So.. I went to the staff preview for Nike / Addidas sale. And I didnt buy anything...
I went to Kinokuniya, read about 10 books...... I didn't buy anything.....
I went to Topshop to look at the latest designs.... I didn't buy anything.....
I went to Watsons, only got Contact Lens Solution...( I need it... )

the boys and I went shopping for Justin's new corporate image.. first stop,
G2000, I resisted even with the good deal and my staff discount....I charged $330 to my credit card but the clothes did not belong to me... they belonged to my friends... so I am getting $330 back..

Next stop, Dorothy Perkins.... same deal... staff dicounts.... nice clothes, good cuts and designs in my size !
I spent $45... now I am feeling so guilty !
( on a different note, I save $150 last month )
