Finally Updated..

It has been a while since I updated my blogs...

So here are some of the highlights since January 12th

  • Good talk with 3 good friends over 'RotiPrata' just around the corner of my house, apparently, tact is STILL in fashion and I need to practise it more ! ( thanks guys, I appreciate it, just same old stubborn me )
  • I have a co-chair that blushes really easily but he is a real joy to work with.
  • Long overdue conversation with a friends in UK, Germany and Rome
  • Finally being able to work on my new year's resolution, good progress so far.
  • I caught up with Kelly at Fish and Co, and service was so bad, we even thought of stealing a few calamari rings from the next table..... ( we did not in the end )
  • Stephen is coming to visit in May ! And I will be taking time off to travel SEA a bit with him ! I am excited.
  • Got a new pair of glasses that makes me look nerdier ! ( yeah )
  • A good talk with my boss regarding my future roles and responsibillities !
  • Two colleagues of mine decided to leave the company and move on to greener and greater pastures. BEST WISHES from the bottom of my heart.
  • I am still torn between Tennis or Violin Classes.
  • there is a 95% chance that I will go back to school again ( Part-Time ) in April. A birthday present for myself.
  • Sat through 6 hours of AIESEC Singapore Elections, how different are their elections !
  • Had a good laugh at Burger King with AIESEC Singapore after their elections, we talked about AIESEC babies ! ( inter-kindergarten exchange anyone)

I can't wait for February.... I am going to HONG KONG from the 8th to the 13th and my company is closed for Chinese New Year from the 18th to the 23rd ! In true Singaporean manner.... SHIOK !

Afterthoughts: in life.... you have two kinds of good friends. ( 1 ) The kind that will stand by you no matter what happends, they will even risk an arguement if they see that you have a flaw that needs to be corrected. 'tough love' they call it ( 2 ) The ones that accept you for who you are flaws and makes no attempt to correct your flaws.

I have both kinds of friends and honestly, I dont know which method I prefer.. but i know it takes quite a bit of guts to be type 1. At least I know its not easy to deal with the bitchy me.

I will be chairing the AIESEC Singapore's Prepration Seminar 2007 ! And i have a co-chair also from AIESEC Victoria. ( no its not David, keep guessing ! ) How exciting ! It has been a while since I do AIESEC stuff but it sure feels good to be back. Strangely enough. you feel younger tooo !

Janis just sent me an MP3 via bluetooth from her table ( directly in front of mine ) . I love the song. Thanks !

Here's my last shoutout to my best friend Sai, YOU HAVE BEEN MISSED !

I have a group of friends and that I hang out with from time to time and each time we decide to meet up, a couple of them is always late. Its fine to be late from time to time and its fine to be 5 to 10 minutes late and if you call earlier on to explain that you are going to be late. But…. 10 minutes dragged on to 15 and 15 to 30 minutes.

After a while, 30 minutes is the norm and 45 minutes becomes acceptable ! And all that talk about 'punctuality is a virtue' is now out of the window. I have known this group of friends for 3 – 10 years now.

Given that we meet about twice a month, and each time I spend 30 minutes waiting for them,
45minutes X 12 months X 4 years = 2160 minutes
2160 minutes is 36 hours which is 1.5 days !

and this is calculation without exaggeration,

If I were to make someone wait for me for 1.5 day. I would be surprise to still see the person there, in fact, I would be surprise to still see the person after 2 hours !

I would wait because there was a traffic jam, or it started to rain and you could not get the cab.

But I would not wait when you set the time to meet at 7.15pm and you are STILL at home at 7.15pm because you want to doll-up, or you arrive at 7.15pm but everyone is late so you decide to be later by going shopping and arrive at 7.45pm, or you set the time to meet at 5.30 but you think everyone is going to be late, so 'its ok' if I am late, worst still, its fine to be late because we made reservations and Celine is going to be on time to make sure we keep the reservations ya ?

So my dear friends, I am not being anal and I am not being a tight-ass, I just wish you take into consideration that I do not intend to spend a good part of my life just waiting for you, I do not want to be the b*tch that has to bring the matter up. Be considerate that I value my time and I would wait 5 or 10 minutes.

And don't you dare tell me "When you stop giving a crap about all that, you start having fun" because how fun it it to have to wait around for 45 minutes ! ( and people call me a nerd because I carry a book around to the pubs, and no.. i am not sorry for carrying that small little purse that hardly contains anything intellectual) and I remember how you guys got angry when a certain someone else was late. And to that someone who made a joke about meeting up less, its not even remotely funny. [ And I am still waiting for that apology. ] Side note : none of you ever said sorry for being late !

Maybe Glenn was right, maybe I should turn up late on your wedding day and say : Opps ! I didn't think you are going to start on time !

On that note, I am going to stop talking about late-ness but the next time I have to wait 30 minutes again, do not expect me to smile and say hello nicely.
