it was a good 45 minutes

i took 45 minutes of my work time and sat through a small segment of a kid's program. ( my company runs programs for kids and teenagers ). It was good to take time off and sit down, think of nothing and enjoy the company of 10-12 year olds.

Imagine 6 HYPERACTIVE, ENERGETIC and CRAZY 12 Year-olds, give them good music and allow them to take over the stage... HILARIOUS ! It was a good 45 minutes.

I would love to put their pictures up but thinking that they are minors. Its best that I don't.

[On a side note, we have a company culture, songs that we play over and over again, songs that we dance to, cheers, screams and have tremendous amount of fun within the team... sounds like AIESEC ya ?]

Another visitor in Town

Hoan is coming to town.... one more for the books....

No worries Justin, you know you still be welcomed anytime at my place. The kids miss you !

I am stepping out..

I have stepped into Corporate World and it has kept me really really busy. Don't get me wrong, I love the new challenges, new goals and new expectations ! It has been a long time since I threw myself whole-heartedly into ONE single thing.

Honestly, it feels good to be able to focus on one aspect of my life. Summming up this week..

Celebrated Gary's Birthday, Cherie's Birthday, Desmond's Birthday, LAN ( DOTA rules ! ) with the Barker Boys ( its sooo good to catch up with old friends ) Stay at home the whole weekend to keep my mum and dad company, ran errands. Bought presents for Sean and Katelyn. Exercised at the gym till 12 midnight. Tailgated a thousand and one cars ! Had my very very first OE camp. Cleaned up my office table. Missed a few phone calls. Met a few more new people. Surviving on little sleep. I love my life...

Life is coming along fine, just Celine, just me, just busy.

Big Shoes to Fill..

Its turnover time in AIESEC World. Each LC will chose / have elected their LCP. AIESEC Victoria has elected their newest and brightest star !
I remember blogging about Victoria's newest team in March.... it is with GREAT pride that I introduce LCP 2006/2007, Emil ! ( of course, not forgetting Dave )( I feel soooo old.. it has been sooo many elections since mine ! )

dave
Dave, LC President-Outgoing. Dr Dave ! The one that inspired and lead !

Dave has done a wonderful job with the LC. A people's person, Dave has shown the LC his passion for AIESEC and his passion for his team. His love and concern has earned him the respect of many members and Alumnis.

emil2
Emil, VP Incoming Exchange is now the LC President-Incoming. The dude, the soul. I have watched Emil grow from a VP to LCPe. I seen Emil carried out his responsibilities and I have witness his passion for the LC. It is with immense pride to see Emil the next LCP of AIESEC Victoria.

BIG SHOES TO FILL

Pawprint[1]

All presidents of AIESEC Victoria has big shoes to fill.
As turnover rolls by and as one president takes the place of another president. I cannot help but smile.....

I remember sitting at NC Legislation, keeping AIESEC Victoria open. I remember how I felt. I now understand why I did... The road from then to now might not be rosy and smooth but I've learnt a lot on my AIESEC journey. I have made some of my closest friends through AIESEC, I learnt life lessons that cannot be learnt elsewhere. My AIESEC journey was eventful and life changing ....

I miss AIESEC Victoria, I miss my LC.

home...

home key

Funny how I blog about Singapore as home when I was in Canada and now home is Victoria.

[Listening to Michael Buble's Home...]

People always say that home is where the heart is... for the past few weeks... home is in AIESEC Victoria, home is in Victoria, B.C. AIESEC Victoria is full of activities, new members, WRC, Coastal Conference, NC, LCP ELECTIONS ! I love my LC and I feel so sad that I cannot be there.. I know things are going excellent and Dave is doing a WONDERFUL job ! Emil and Sang are running for LCP ! no matter who wins, it is going to be a wonderful year ahead...

Home for the past few weeks is also my office.. my messy yet organised table..

iThink

Its 3.05am 3rd Nov in Singapore, 11.05am 2nd Nov in Victoria BC.
I saw an old friend online and the first line he said made me think.
My brains woke up and I am functioning at 200% brain power again.......

There is a particular someone who ALWAYS makes me think.

He can be 63,000 miles away and he still makes me think... I love the challenges, I love the mental 'torture'... I miss good late night conversations, I miss good old talks with this very intelligent person. One very unique person.. very inspiring, very motivational and very cool.....

I first had to opportunity to work with this person in AIESEC Victoria. He was my LCP. You know who you are... here a post with my deepest gratitude. Thank you for teaching me so much, making me see things differently, for the never-ending inspiration and the motivation.

( Yes, i am working hard on getting my SLR )

A good start

goodstart[1]

November kicked off on a good note, i hope the rest of the month continues...

Jeff and YY did an awesome job with our 1 day caoch training and we had much fun scaling the rock walls !

Somehow, I feel that Rockwall climbing and Taking Risks are similar,

We feel alive when we take risks; however, we need to take risks that are appropriate for us. We also need to sensitize ourselves to them. We do this by engaging our senses and understanding our intentions. We engage our senses by feeling (sense of touch) the rock and our body’s contact with it. We look (sense of sight) for possible sequences for climbing and possible falling consequences. We also examine our intentions to acknowledge whether we are motivated by our ego or by the desire to learn and grow.

If you look deeply enough, you’ll realize you take risks to grow and growth gives you experiences that make you feel alive, take risks that are appropriate for you, learn what you need to learn, and feel alive and fulfilled in the process.

Any thoughts ?
