Birthday Part III

With the advancement in technology, it is amazing how I get emails, SMSes and phonecall from far far away with warm birthday wishes.

Although there is still a few more hours before I officially turn OLDER than 26. Here's the list of people I have to thank for their warm wishes and birthday presents and surprises ! And it is in order of what time they called / messaged. ( According to Janis, the people who called in advance and the 'belated' people should not be in the list )

What’s cooler than having good colleagues ? Birthday part II

Having awesome colleagues that go the extra mile to welcoming you and preparing your birthday.

This is what they have done today,
1 ) Tricked me out of going for lunch early.

2 ) Boss's boss pretended that she has not had Jack's Place for a long time and wants to go there... knowing that it is one of my favourite places. Casually mentioned that we are going to Jack's Place today.

3 ) Pretended that she need to go to a store to do some exchanges and spent a massive amount of time there. ( So I played along ! )

4 ) Knowing that I have been coming to the office with dust allergies causing my eyes to tear frequently and contact lenses to fall out of place. The HR Department set up a mosquito net ( in bright pink ! ) and bought me all kinds of cleaning supplies !

5 ) Wrapped all different kinds of detergent, soap, brushes, wet tissues, hand soap, cleaning gloves, brushes individually and hanging them all over the pink net ! ( look below )

6 ) Treat me to a very scrumptious lunch at Jack Place

7 ) Bought me mango cake, learnt that I dont take mango, Bought me another slice of cheesecake !

8 ) Sang the birthday song twice

9 ) Bought me a Training and Development Textbook ! YIPPPEEEE !

10) Boss noticed that I always have a notebook with me and always scribbing away, bought a very very kick-ass classy notebook. THANK YOU. Very Thoughtful.

11 ) My birthday card says : Congratulations ! You survived your first birthday with us ! hahah

My Birthday Week Part I

Last Year, I promised myself a good birthday this year. Unfortunately, I didnt have the time due to assignments and a change in workplace and jobs. In many ways, I think my birthday is off to a good start 2008.

Saturday 12th April 2008
Saturday night, the B.Boys tried to surprise me with a good old visit to Sizzler Salad buffet, catching up with hilarious topics from movies and weeds…

Julian, you look good in the new pairs of Jeans. DO not cut them please.
Thanks Guys, I really appreciate the $150 Raoul Gift Certificate. I can always do with extra corporate wear.

Sunday 13th April 2008
The entire family went out for a dinner at Jumbo seafood…. Yum Yum, Prawns, Crabs, Steamed Fish, Abalone, Scallop…. Thank you very much to daddy who gave me an advance on my ang pow money and paying for dinner.

I had a surprise call from someone I didn’t expect on Sunday night. You got the date wrong but you really made me smile inside because its good to know that after so many years. You still remembered my birthday and most impressive of all, you managed to track down my handphone number in Singapore ! Thank you for the phone call despite the time difference, and you have been greatly missed too. Your phone call almost made me cry.
