We and Change

we

Recently, I received two emails from a certain someone who uses the word WE excessively. In order to diminish her repulsive need to be in 200% in control of everything that is happening, she has decided to write on behalf of everyone involved in the project, by using the word we. We think, we need, we want.. blah blah blah… unknown to her, she does not know that her opinions does not represent us ! Oblivious to what is happening around her. She is courting a slow and painful death.

Tensions rise among team members when you use strong words and when you speak on behalf of other people. You have created a bad image for yourself and also you lead people to think how hostile and non-corporative you are. You have fallen out of ranks with the us and you should be really lucky that there are no more opportunities after this we need to work together on. You are a control freak, uptight, nauseating, disgusting, egocentric, shrewd, insensitive cockroach. I wish Margaret Chan from Masters of the Sea 1994 TV Soap is here to say "I will crush you like a cockroach". You have a sad and pathetic life with no girl friends whom you can share your secret with. You have no true friends who goes the extra mile to help you and you will not bother to lift a finger to help anyone or do anything that will not benefit you ! F**K ! Do you have a conscience ? Or has your unscrupulous and deceitful ways taken over every blood cell in your body ?

So… as my beloved choir sings ‘Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat’, I will continue with a solo. ‘So are you BITCH !’ You look totally out of place with your little black dress and polka dots scarf tied too loosely. Makes you look like a donkey. Please ditch that ugly scarf or those ugly scarves that you have in your supposedly colossal wardrobe.

change[1]

I became highly aware of the word ‘we’ when the barker boys sat me down and explained to me how I was using the word without much thought. (Thanks guys !) Stepping back into my Canadian mode, I realize how much friends have taught me over the years. They have made me a better person. How to relax, take it easy and turn a blind eye to things that won’t matter as much 3 days later.

Its is almost like my friends around me ‘painted’ me with a coat of fresh paint. Telling when I start to cross boundaries, telling me to shut up when they know I have a very vivid and colourful dictionary of vulgarities to use and they pull me back from time to time, hoping I think twice about my choice of words. Its change and without my friends, I would not have been who I am today.

On that note, however, I must stress that one should stay true to one’s personality and be able to stand up against the masses. I have always believed that it is very important to be an individual yet learn from friends who have life’s lessons to teach and share.

To The Barker Boys, Sai, Jan, Jenny, Wai, Kenric, Astrid, Janine, Joel K., Cookie, Choir Peeps and AIESEC Peeps. I love you guys for who are you and most of all when you try to make me a better person.

PS : Jenny, I got your post card from Portugal. Thank you. Hope you had fun !

**Celine inhales deeply, breathes out, the bitching about you shall end here, I will rise above bitchy-ness today ( can't wait to log off to laugh at my own drama hahahah )

More Bitching in Order

I detest people with no morals and you are one of them.

To read this post, please here and if you dont have my password, then you really shouldn't be reading it or you can try your luck and email me for the password. You can guess the password.

I took this post away to my other blog because a good friend of mine advised me against posting after reading it. Oh well.. I love nomadlife but I am no longer a student who is allowed to rage against the world. I am working and I have to learn to keep some things out of sight to the public eye.

But everyone is still entitled to my opinion. Ha Ha Ha Ha. As I continue to blog, I will link the new posts each time I have no choice but to bring my blog over to wordpress. If not, you will still see my blogs here. I love my nomadlife address too much.

Cheers,
Celine

I hate

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH With Acapella Practice last night, I thought I will have a happier day. The group decided to practice with Christmas Carols.Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat….Funny song.
I am in an extremely crude and vulgar mood today.
I woke up at 5.30am this morning to do some studying and eventually fell back asleep at 6.30am. There are a few people I TOTALLY detest today and they have all chosen to ‘appear’ in one way or other in front of me.

I-hate-her-number-one :
Piss off, get away from me, I am not interested to talk to you, not on MSN, not through SMS, stop telling me that you are finding out how to be a Canadian and how you are scheming to find ways and means to get permanent residence there. You cannot speak English well, you whine english a HELL lot. You pretend to be adorable, you dress like you are 40. Go back to your freaking country. Get the hell out of Singapore. Stop bringing up stories of camp that happened 7 years ago. I hate you and I even hate the sound of your name.

I-hate-her-number-two :
You bloody recycle your gifts and you tell tall tales so you look ‘good’ in front of others. You never give credit when it is due. You have no respect for others whose priorities are different from you. Take a step out to the real world ! Look around you, update yourself with current affairs. Do you even know about the elections happening around us ? Its the year 2008. not 1998. Stop thinking that its your way or the highway. Have some respect for people who believe in world peace, saving the environment have some tolerance for people who have religious and political views. AND for goodness sake. Stop talking about your imaginary boyfriend.

I-hate-her-number-three :
STOP whining that you work for idiots when you can barely hold a job for long. Stop arguing with the sales assistant to take 10 Thai Baht off your purchases. Stop thinking that you NEED to get the best bargain and stop taking advantage of your friends because we, "your friends" are avoiding you. We are not taking your calls and SMSes because we are not buying your theory of whomever is not meeting you will have to pay for dinner ! I am not your last minute or portable encyclopedia, don’t call me and insist that I help you answer your interview questions and for FUCKS sake, stop using my name for freebies and commission in your company.

I-don't-know-how-to-handle-her-number-four
Stop asking your friends to drive you around. I know its none of my business and its really your choice but stop taking advantage of your friends like that. I am ashamed actually to be associated with you when you do that. I don't know if I want to voice my opinion or get out of the car and start walking or just avoid you totally. Otherwise you are a really nice girl.

PHEW......much better now... bitch blogging is rather theraputic
I shall listen to grey's anatomy music now...

I am pissed !

quote from dictionary.com
pissed off
–noun Slang: Vulgar.
angry or annoyed.
[Origin: 1935–40]

My sis and I are utterly pissed at some of our friends and some of our girls from IJ.
For the last 4 months, I have been working with 3 classes of IJ girls. They are from the normal classes and they felt left out in general, they are extremely bright girls but lack the motivation to study. Some of the girls I met has inspired me with their initiative, ideas and they have taught me so much. There are so many times I lie on my bed at night thinking about how much I have learn from them.

These girls have worked hard, they have been stretched to their limits, been pressured and stressed by their mentors to make things work. We (the mentors )all knew that this is not going to be an easy task. These girls have no experience in the working world, some of them have never picked up a phone to call an external party and some of them don't have the courage to ask when they have a question. But we kept on with it, we believed in the girls.

This Saturday is their chance to shine and this Saturday, we will see the result of their hard work. Unfortunately, I am greatly shocked by the response of the alumni and the other girls in school. They lack the confidence that the girls will put up a good show, they did not support in the ticket sales. They have came up with the craziest excuses we ever heard for not supporting the event. Oh crazy people....

So.. it goes back to my personal philosophy, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going and this is a message to all my 4N girls, despite all the times I scream and shouted at you guys, how stern I am and how crazy I am, I still love you guys LOADS. You might not walk talk in the academic side of life but in my books, you are the angels that taught me more than I can ever asked for. You shown me what love for my school is, you inspired me to continue working with the school and most of all, you have shown me how to walk taller when people look down on us. And this, I will never be able to learn from any textbooks.

As for the other 'non-supporters' you have two choices,
1) start supporting or
2) F*** OFF !

"I am a member of the Singapore Complaints Choir, which is performing for the M1 Fringe Festival 2008, and we are being told to shut up.

The Complaints Choir movement was started by a Finnish couple in 2005, and has toured around the world, to places such as Helsinki, Birmingham, Jerusalem and Alaska. The project in Singapore began with volunteer participants coming together with their complaints, arranging the music and belting it out in song.

We have been together for a month, and tonight was our last rehearsal before the slew of public performances this coming weekend. We have just been told that the police, together with the MDA, are banning all foreigners from participating in this project.

Earlier this month our complaints had to be sent to the MDA for censorship approval. And to our surprise, it was approved without modification.

We have been issued performance licenses by the MDA, but now we are being told that foreigners, cannot and should not sing complaints about Singapore. It doesn't matter if you have lived or worked here for most of your life, or if you can innocently comment on rising transport fairs, or realise your complaints, are my complaints, and the world is not as big or apart as we think. Sure, we welcome foreign talent with open arms. But please shut up while you're here.

Our conductor, and music arranger, is Malaysian. The founders of this project, who have been singing with us since day 1, are Finnish. A number of our choristers, are either PRs, or foreign nationals.

One of our performing venues is the Speakers' Corner, where foreigners will not be issued licenses to speak. We can no longer perform at this venue.

We can no longer perform, as a complete choir. The complaints, the music, the project, have all been tainted by the foreigners who have contributed since early this month, from the inception of the project, to the writing of the complaints, to the music, and its performance.

This leaves me embittered, sad, angry, disappointed, livid, jaded, but most of all sad. I am disappointed that this is what the world, watching the documentary about this Complaints Choir movement, will learn about my country, when this process has been about meeting those who feel we are ready to give our country a shot, and have something to be proud of.

Don't you dare say we have no national pride, and are apathetic. This is my country, and fuck you for desecrating my home. "

I am not your maid !

maid[1]

I am not your maid, kindly refrain from asking me to do your chores. If I've already given you a suggestion, kindly move your ass, go ATTEMPT to fix YOUR problem and revert to me if you need more help. I am not your assistant, neither are you my boss. If you are asking for help, PLEASE and THANK YOU are phrases that you need to include in whatever and however you choose to ask.

Pretending to be a smart person yet totally incompetent with tiny technical gliches gives your pretence away. Speaking in another language in front of your co-workers does not make you any smarter either. Get a FREAKING clue: NO ONE is responding to you in French, so what does that mean ?

I do not give rat's ass on how many nights you stay up and think about how people wronged you or how you can do better... officially, as of today, you do not exist in my books.
