We and Change

we

Recently, I received two emails from a certain someone who uses the word WE excessively. In order to diminish her repulsive need to be in 200% in control of everything that is happening, she has decided to write on behalf of everyone involved in the project, by using the word we. We think, we need, we want.. blah blah blah… unknown to her, she does not know that her opinions does not represent us ! Oblivious to what is happening around her. She is courting a slow and painful death.

Tensions rise among team members when you use strong words and when you speak on behalf of other people. You have created a bad image for yourself and also you lead people to think how hostile and non-corporative you are. You have fallen out of ranks with the us and you should be really lucky that there are no more opportunities after this we need to work together on. You are a control freak, uptight, nauseating, disgusting, egocentric, shrewd, insensitive cockroach. I wish Margaret Chan from Masters of the Sea 1994 TV Soap is here to say "I will crush you like a cockroach". You have a sad and pathetic life with no girl friends whom you can share your secret with. You have no true friends who goes the extra mile to help you and you will not bother to lift a finger to help anyone or do anything that will not benefit you ! F**K ! Do you have a conscience ? Or has your unscrupulous and deceitful ways taken over every blood cell in your body ?

So… as my beloved choir sings ‘Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat’, I will continue with a solo. ‘So are you BITCH !’ You look totally out of place with your little black dress and polka dots scarf tied too loosely. Makes you look like a donkey. Please ditch that ugly scarf or those ugly scarves that you have in your supposedly colossal wardrobe.

change[1]

I became highly aware of the word ‘we’ when the barker boys sat me down and explained to me how I was using the word without much thought. (Thanks guys !) Stepping back into my Canadian mode, I realize how much friends have taught me over the years. They have made me a better person. How to relax, take it easy and turn a blind eye to things that won’t matter as much 3 days later.

Its is almost like my friends around me ‘painted’ me with a coat of fresh paint. Telling when I start to cross boundaries, telling me to shut up when they know I have a very vivid and colourful dictionary of vulgarities to use and they pull me back from time to time, hoping I think twice about my choice of words. Its change and without my friends, I would not have been who I am today.

On that note, however, I must stress that one should stay true to one’s personality and be able to stand up against the masses. I have always believed that it is very important to be an individual yet learn from friends who have life’s lessons to teach and share.

To The Barker Boys, Sai, Jan, Jenny, Wai, Kenric, Astrid, Janine, Joel K., Cookie, Choir Peeps and AIESEC Peeps. I love you guys for who are you and most of all when you try to make me a better person.

PS : Jenny, I got your post card from Portugal. Thank you. Hope you had fun !

**Celine inhales deeply, breathes out, the bitching about you shall end here, I will rise above bitchy-ness today ( can't wait to log off to laugh at my own drama hahahah )
