Good Old' Victoria

Today, I walked another step away from my good old town Victoria. It has been 10 months since I am back in Singapore but i still miss Victoria very much. I took out all my posters, brochures, and pictures of Victoria and stuck up in 2 extremely huge photo frames.. Cards from blockbuster, thrifty, shoppers, uvic, bus passes, air tickets, bus tickets, cinema tickets blah blah blah..... and these thoughts ran through my head and most of all, my heart.

I still remember which buses goes where and which part of town smells dutch bakery, noodles( PHO ! ) and the meeting point downtown in front of chapters, the smell of books mixed with coffee on the 2nd floor. The alleys where wind will blow the strongest, the alleys where the wind will never catch you. The streets we walked after 'Red Jacket' for 99cents pizza. Where I will always walk past ROOTS and GAP, hoping to catch the sales, seeing the new designs and Chinatown where I go for comfort foods. Oak Bay Rec and San Juan Rec where Sai and I will spend HOURS swimming and just talking.

I remember the UVic ring, the blue couches I use to sit on to study all night long in the ELW. I still remember the stairs leading to the AIESEC Office when it was still in the SUB, the way Craig will pop his head in in between lessons, the maze at Corrnett buidling, the pyramid where we sat to take orientation photos. The 'snake story' at Biology Building. The Library with a thousand and one books and the hidden nooks and corners. The Clearihue building infested with students in the computer labs. The David Strong Building where most of the AIESEC activities were held. The MP room with so many little booths during Career Fair, the bookstore I cant get enough of. The big TV screen where we watch Hockey together.

I can still see the shade of red gaets at Firehall No. 1 down on Yates, the yellow paint on my 'firetruck' parked next to crystal pool. The 'hollow' stairsways up the side of the firehall to meetings rooms. The after-meetings at Christies Pub, the hockey matches, the crazy things we talk about and they crazy times we laughed till our sides ached.
